At Northwest Farm Credit Services, we understand the diverse needs of ag producers. Helping young, beginning, small and minority producers get started ensures a solid future for agriculture and rural communities. AgVision is our nationally recognized program designed to meet the needs of customers with at least one of the following characteristics:
- 35 years of age or younger.
- 10 years or less agricultural experience.
- Recognized minority: African American, Native American, Alaskan Native, Hispanic, Asian, and Pacific Islanders.
- Producer with annual gross farm production of less than $250,000.
Financing Options
Young, beginning, small or minority producers may have difficulty finding adequate financing. AgVision offers financing at competitive rates with possible loan fee reductions.
Financing includes:
- Real estate purchases -- including loans to acquire a farm, ranch, timberland or additional acreage.
- Operating expenses -- including credit for planting and harvesting expenses such as feed, seed, and fertilizer, as well as family living expenses.
- Livestock and equipment purchases -- includes financing for livestock, new or used machinery or vehicles.
- Refinancing existing debt -- refinance mortgages and contracts or consolidate other debts to obtain terms tailored to fit your repayment schedule.
Program Features
The AgVision program has less-restrictive underwriting standards. Customers who may not qualify under normal programs may qualify under AgVision standards. The AgVision program includes:
- Competitive interest rates – All qualifying loans receive preferred rates.
- Reduced or waived fees – Applicants receive fee reductions or waivers, depending on circumstances.
- Knowledgeable staff – AgVision program participants work closely with Northwest FCS credit officers to build financial management skills as they develop their operations.
- Educational benefits – AgVision participants are invited to conferences and workshops for financial and management training. They may also receive reimbursement funds to apply toward computers, education, etc.
- Mentor Program – Participants are encouraged to work with a mentor to increase their management skills.
- Leadership Opportunities - Through our Local Advisor Committee, participants can strengthen leadership skills by serving as a reference for new program applicants, offering ideas and suggestions to the Northwest FCS Board, and providing valuable feedback on our customer service.
